The importance of watching and waiting. Ten minutes earlier, I had seen this stag walking past, about 50 metres off to my right, pursued by half a dozen other photographers (something I never do). Luckily for me, he changed direction and came past my position where I was photographing my favourite tree (doesn't everyone have a favourite tree?). I captured 12 images in about 90 seconds (this being my favourite) before he walked away. A minute later, those other photographers came past, still trying to catch up! 😉

(4 of 4 @ 17:43) ... this time the doorman will have to feature as he's not going anywhere, still watching me but seemingly disinterested in the man ... he arrives, he stops, checks the menu. I'm still waiting for people to move by, come on, get out of the way!!! And then, the waiter comes to the window, providing a sense of human interaction as they regard each other with the bored looking doorman making up the magic number 3 ... and click!!! My little series is complete. Phew, was it just 4 minutes? Felt like much longer! If you made it this far, thanks for stopping by and sticking with it. Ciao!

(3 of 4 @ 17:42) ... now its busier, less gaps, other punters stopping, intruding, I can't get him alone, I need him alone to keep the series going don't I? Still, I take a shot with a young woman next to him as they both check out the buffett inside, maybe she'll add to the story if I can't get him alone. No good, I feel he's about to move so I move on, getting ahead, feeling more conspicuous as I notice the doorman at the next restaurant has spotted me, no doubt wondering what I'm doing ... (to be continued) ...

(1 of 4 @ 17:40) So I find myself in Chinatown (again) but this time I decide to stroll down Lisle Street instead of the usual (and busier) Gerard Street. Half an hour after sunset, pretty dark already, I'm shooting wide open at ISO 1250. I spot my target, an elderly Chinese gentleman perusing a menu. Too many people, I want him isolated so I have to wait, wait, wait for it ... move people, move ... and click! No. 1 in the bag ... (to be continued) ...
